Celebrating the 110th anniversary of the Hashomer Hatzair movement with a revival of the iconic slogans by Shraga Weil from post-World War II.
The project uniquely merges text and imagery much like Weil's woodblock prints. The typography echoes the renewed illustrations made by famous Israeli artist - David Polonsky, in movement, rhythm, color, and composition. The renewed letters, expertly crafted by Nadav Birenboim, pay homage to Weil's original lettering, while the commandments are set in the style of woodblock printing, reminiscent of British Mandate era posters. Together they embody historical Israeli design and face the movement's present and future.
Happy 110th Birthday!
